The Georgian translation of "Rapunzel" based on a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm.

Lika Guruli, Tbilisi State University

Lika Guruli’s journey in translation spans just a few years. Through this process, she discovered the deep joy it brings her, and she takes great care in selecting the most fitting Georgian equivalents. She shares the view of renowned Georgian translators that a translation demands fidelity to the original, and that, once allowed to mature, it becomes far more engaging to read and listen to. She decided to translate this particular fairy tale for her daughters, who have always listened to her story readings with boundless enthusiasm. She is deeply grateful to Ms. Marika Andrazashvili for her invaluable guidance in editing and perfecting the text. The translation is dedicated to her daughters, Elene and Sesili.
