I am delighted that another interesting initiative of our Department has come to fruition. Today, the first issue of the online journal "Philology" of the students of the Institute of West European Languages and Literature of the Faculty of Humanities of TSU sees the light of day.

I am pleased to see the enthusiasm and determination that our students have revealed while working on their articles. The comments and suggestions of the reviewers and editors were immediately noted and revisions made. Today we are offering the works of students of all three levels of English Philology together with a translation of a student of the Master's Program of Translation Studies.

In addition to the academic staff and doctoral students of our university, the journal's Editorial Board includes representatives of other Georgian universities and also international representatives. I hope that our cooperation will expand and, in addition to TSU students, students from other universities will actively cooperate with us.

I would like to express my gratitude to the young supervisors of the authors and the reviewers who did not spare their effort and enthusiasm approaching the work with professional dedication.

Special thanks to the editors of the journal and also to the group working on the logo, our undergraduate student Anano Endeladze, PhD student Marine Makhatadze and, last but not least,  PhD student and editor of the journal Nato Peradze;  to our IT support group, TSU students Lasha Gagnidze, Salome Tsiklauri and Ana Mtsituri.

Professor Manana Rusieshvili,

Head of the Department of English Philology at TSU
